Interleaved with blanks, some of which have been used to make notes in a small, old hand, together with some annotation and underlining of the printed text. Introductory material in Latin, main text in Greek. Occasional light smudges. Contemporary brownish purple textured cloth, gilt titles to spines. Rubbed, head caps a little tattered with joints of vols. II and II beginning to split at head, and vol. II also a little at the tail of its rear board, ink blot to spine vol.II, a few small marks, some corners a little frayed but still a very good, sound set with interesting signs of scholarly use. Each volume with tiny paper label to front pastedown of Thornton & Son Booksellers, 11 The Broad, Oxford. To each ffep, pencilled ownership inscription of Th. Braun, 17.10.1975. To title-page vol. II, ownership inscription of W.A. Kaye, Magd[alen].
In his introduction to this fourth edition, Blass writes that he has omitted his new critical preface outlining the rationale for the readings he has adopted. This preface appears in the larger edition that was published at the same time, but Blass omits it here believing it to be unhelpful to the students at whom this smaller format was aimed. His only prefix here is the 'Demosthenic Chronology' compiled by Dindorf, which he has expanded and altered as necessary.
