MS notes to final leaf and rear endpapers. Contemporary half green polished sheep, gilt title and rules to spine, marbled boards, edges sprinkled red. Joints worn with the upper just starting, edges worn and corners fraying with some loss of surface, endpapers toned, still a good sound copy. Ownership inscription of Michael J. Bellis pencilled to front pastedown, with small Foyles label. The fifth edition of the traveller and writer Thomas Pennant's account of London. Pennant (1726-1798) began his writing career with zoological and other naturalist works, but after achieving success with an account of a tour of Scotland, turned to travel. He toured Wales, Scotland, several counties, and London, and published a number of works entitled 'A Tour of...' or 'A Journey from...'.
