The first collected printing of the letters of Libanius, the 4th-century AD rhetorician. More than 1500 of his letters survive, the largest extant collection from antiquity, and only brief selections had been previously edited. Wolf's magisterial volume not only prints as many as were known but also includes Latin translations for each letter; Smith called it 'the best edition' (Dict. Gr. & Rom.
